Emily Smith is a solo practitioner who represents asylum seekers. She previously worked for Human Rights Watch in the countries of the former Soviet bloc, where she had the privilege to advocate for many brave people who were in the midst of suffering persecution. Realizing that their ordeals were far from over when they escaped their countries to seek asylum abroad, she returned to her country to earn a law degree and advocate for human rights at home.
