Vanessa Saldivar

Since 2010, Vanessa Saldivar has worked for numerous immigration legal service providers. She represented survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence as a BIA Accredited Representative and worked for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) coordinating a national pro bono project serving Central American families detained in Artesia, New Mexico. Vanessa was awarded the Oregon AILA Immigrant Achievement Award and the AILA Michael Maggio Pro Bono Award in 2015 for her work in New Mexico. Following her work in Artesia, Vanessa helped start the Immigration and Deportation Defense Clinic at the University of San Francisco School of Law and most recently, worked for the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN) as the Children’s Program Pro Bono Coordinator. Vanessa has been a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in foster care and has taught yoga to survivors of sexual assault. She holds a Masters Degree in Migration Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.
